Poiema Sweets is thrilled to be invited back to Benigna's Creek Vineyard and Winery for the second Galentine's to Valentine's Truffle class and wine tasting! Gather friends, family, or your significant other for a delicious afternoon of making chocolate truffles and sampling some amazing wines.
Led by pastry chef, Chela Nolan, you will learn the history of chocolate truffles and how it pairs well with wines. Techniques covered will include: tempering cream and chocolate for the ganache, knowing the consistencies of the ganache and when to roll them, and the art of presentation for gifting your delicious truffles! Every attendee will be led through the steps to make classic chocolate ganache and will be able to choose a second and third flavor at registration. There will be some pre-made flavors available, so even if you don't get to make them all, you will have the opportunity to taste them!
Flavor options will be: classic, raspberry, espresso, mint, and orange. There will be multiple toppings for rolling our truffles in such as coconut, sprinkles, cocoa powder and nuts. Each attendee will leave with a decorative box filled with 6-8 truffles (depending on how large you roll them!) and a 6 pack decorative box of chocolate covered strawberries (which we will dip in class as well!).
The base class price of $50.00 which will include the class, wine tasting with light snack from Benigna’s Creek, a half dozen chocolate covered strawberries in a gift box, and 6-8 truffle box. There are Add Ons at registration if you'd like to take home an extra box of the truffles or chocolate strawberries.
***Must be 21+ to attend and IDs are required
***No other alcohol is allowed on the premises
