Our story

Poiema (pronounced poy-EH-ma) Sweets has been in the making for a long time. It has probably been a dream in my heart since childhood, as I always loved baking and being in the kitchen with my mom and grandmother. I remember creating my own sweet masterpieces and proudly presenting them to friends and family. This continued into my teens and eventually adulthood. Hospitality was ,and still is, a big part of my family and a part of me.

Life led me down various other paths before I came to this moment. Poiema came into being purely by the grace of God. Most recently I was running a storefront bakery and candy shop for two years. I quickly realized that the format of the business was not going to provide the home life I desire for my family. Through those two years, I realized my love and passion is for events of all kinds- markets, vendor fairs, birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, graduations, corporate, etc. This is our focus along with local wholesale orders.

I was in a place of frustration, anxiety, and wondering what my purpose was. God revealed very specific things to me during a missions trip with my church to Norway in March 2025. From there, everything started to fall into place. Some doors were flung wide open and others were shut permanently. But, here I am… Poiema Sweets- seeking to create beautiful and delicious masterpieces especially for you. Baking from scratch, using fresh, local and organic ingredients, I want to give you the same hospitality as if you were my own family.
